Roy Jones has more than 25 years of marketing, fundraising and development experience. In addition to consulting and advising some of the nation’s top human services charities, Jones serves several not-for-profit organizations as a volunteer or board member including the Ronald Reagan Institute, Recovery for Llife, and the Economic Development Council.
Jones currently serves as Vice President of Development and Humanitarian Aid at World Help, a faith based international relief agency. He spearheads a team that raises over $100 million annually to help needy children around the world with food, clean water, education and medical care.
Prior to joining World Help, Roy served as an Account Director at the Russ Reid Company, the largest fundraising agency in the world serving non-profit organizations to “help them grow beyond”. The agency raised during his tenure there over $2 million a day. Russ Reid is an industry leader in fundraising direct response marketing, direct response television and radio, and is at the forefront of utilizing digital media to create fully integrated marketing plans for over 200 non-profit clients. Clients include World Vision, Red Cross, St. Jude, Operation Smile and five different networks, the largest including over 80 rescue missions around the United States and Canada.
From 2005 to 2010 Roy Jones served as director of development at America’s largest Christian school, Liberty University. Mr. Jones headed the team that provided direct mail, major gift, and planned giving programs for the seven colleges in the University system.
Mr. Jones returned to his alma mater after serving as vice president for development of the Cancer Recovery Foundation of America. In the 1990′s Jones served as a Vice President of U.S.A. Direct where he oversaw fundraising programs which helped raise more than $100 million annually for the national organizations and political campaigns served by U.S.A. Direct.
He began his career in fundraising and marketing in the political campaign arena. Jones has assisted numerous political organizations in Washington, D.C. with fundraising and development to include the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Judicial Watch, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the Bush-Quayle Presidential campaign.
Jones has worked with numerous Presidential candidates throughout his career. Most recently, he has provided fundraising expertise and support to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s Presidential campaign. In 2008 he advised the John McCain Presidential campaign with fundraising and support in Florida and South Carolina. In 1991-92 he served on the staff of President George Bush in the Bush-Quayle Presidential campaign. In 1990, he was a consultant to two successful campaigns for the U.S. Congress, a victorious presidential campaign in Guatemala, and conducted training schools on voter contact and grassroots organizing for Poland’s President Lech Walensa’s political party, Solidarity. Between 1986 and 1989 Jones served as director of coalition development at the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Roy Jones holds two degrees from Liberty University, a B.S. in Political Science and a Masters degree in Business Leadership. He is certified by CFRE International as a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP) and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Jones was first recognized for his fundraising and development initiative in February 1980. Roy Jones was presented by then, Gov. Ronald Reagan, the Outstanding Youth Leader in America Award for his work in Young Americans for Freedom. Jones had raised the funds as a college student to transport and house hundreds of college volunteers to campaign for President Reagan in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
While a student-athlete at Liberty University, Roy Jones was one of the few Flames at the varsity level to ever participate in both football and wrestling. He was a 3 year starter on the offensive line. Jones was also an All-American in wrestling in the heavyweight division winning 3 tournaments, the national eastern regional championship and placing second in the nation at the national finals.
He and his wife, Melinda, have 3 sons Jesse (29), Nathan (27) and Grant (20). Roy and Melinda are also proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
